Heritage Park
Are you aware of Heritage Park in the Indianola/Kingston area? Its a relatively new hiking and dog friendly park - hundreds of acres of trails. It can be accessed from Miller Bay Rd just north of the turn to Indianola or from the golf course area of Whitehorse. Cedar, Guinness and I go there frequently and we think its wonderful. 
 Pope and Talbot Land Cedar and I have spent many happy hours hiking in this area ? you?ll find it off the Port Gamble road ? on the west side. See the map for parking areas. There is lots of room here for anyone to go hiking, horseback riding, biking? the trails are mostly forest access roads with some smaller trails. You can go for an hour or literally hike for miles?bring your lunch and water for the dog! Dogs can run loose but remember you are sharing the area with others ? your dog should be under voice control at all times.  (Click on the map at right to download a trail map and brochure)
 Kitsap Dog Parks Their mission is to establish off-leash dog parks where well-behaved canine citizens can exercise in a clean, safe environment without endangering or annoying people, property, or wildlife. To develop beautiful, well-maintained spaces open to all dog lovers and friends who are willing to uphold the dog parks' rules and restrictions. To view these parks as community projects, in partnership with Kitsap County, designed to satisfy the needs of dog-owners and non-dog owners alike.
